Hatha Yoga, is a slow-paced stretching class with some simple breathing exercises and a few minutes of seated meditation and pranayama (breathwork). Hatha tries to achieve balance between body and mind and is a good place to learn basic yoga poses, relaxation techniques, and become comfortable with yoga.
A smooth, flowing sequence of stretching, strengthening, and energizing poses that link movement with breath. There are fewer static holds and more continual motion, particularly during the first half of the class. It heals, detoxifies and exhilarates the body and mind. The emphasis is on movement, balance, intention and cultivating an inner calm throughout the practice.Vinyasa yoga helps to induce an internal practice.
Beginner’s Ashtanga Vinyasa
Ashtanga yoga offers a series of sequential poses beginning with sun salutations. Students move from one posture to another in a continual flow and link movements to breath. This yoga practice was developed by K. Pattabhi Jois to build strength, flexibility, and stamina. Practitioners of all levels are welcome especially those new to the practice.
Stretch & Sculpt Pilates
This beginner-friendly class applies the classical principles of Pilates for creating a lean and tone physique with a routine that uses a blend of strength, stretch and stabilization techniques. Here, you’ll learn to activate the right muscles that not only build a strong and well-defined core (hello, abs), but also efficiently control movements throughout the workout. Resistance bands and regular socks (non-grip) are regularly used in this class. Routines vary each session.
High Intensity Interval Thursdays, HIIT Pilates
This musically-powered (High Intensity Interval Training) HIIT-style Pilates class alternates between intense bursts of metabolic cardio-strength circuits and less-intense moves or complete rest, offering the chance of increasing body strength and stamina, while burning fat and calories (even after the workout’s done). Using a combination of bodyweight training, dumbbells and resistance bands, classes vary each session and aimed at all levels with options for special populations.
